Análises das principais áreas trabalhadas pela ONU e pela OMC através da linguagem

As Nações Unidas (ONU) e a Organização Mundial do Comércio (OMC) trabalham vários temas em comum, inclusive questões ligadas à mudança climática e ao desenvolvimento sustentável. Nesta série de posts, serão comentados alguns temas frequentes debatidos na Ministerial da OMC e na Conferência das Partes da Convenção-Quadro das Nações Unidas sobre Mudança do Clima (UNFCCC).

Criei também um glossário com os temas mais usados nos documentos e discussões, não apenas para tradutores da área, mas também para facilitar a compreensão de empresários, investidores e outros players. É importante conhecer o atual andamento das discussões sobre comércio, mudança climática e sustentabilidade, pois são questões que afetam todos os países, todas as culturas e seres humanos, e a vida como a conhecemos.

Para o clima, não há barreiras. É uma ameaça comum, que necessita de um trabalho coordenado e em conjunto entre todos, sobretudo entre aquelas nações que mais contribuem para o fenômeno.

The United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) work on a number of common themes, including issues related to climate change and sustainable development. In this series of posts, I’ll focus on some topics frequently discussed at the WTO Ministerial Conference and at the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

I’ve also created a glossary with the terms most used in documents and discussions, not only for translators who work in the field, but also to facilitate the understanding of entrepreneurs, investors and other players. It is important to know the current status of discussions on trade, climate change and sustainability, because they affect all countries, cultures and human beings – and life as we know it.

Climate has no walls, nor barriers. Climate change is a common threat, which requires coordinated work and a joint effort between all, especially among the countries that contribute most to the phenomenon.
